OUR MISSION

MamaCare's mission is to end the cycle of stress, guilt, and shame present in modern motherhood by empowering women to prioritize taking care of themselves daily through an online community filled with expert knowledge, tools, and resources. We believe that when we as mothers prioritize self-care we are better able to care for others.

WHY MAMACARE SUMMIT

MamaCare Summit 2017 is unlike any conference or birthing class you’ve experienced. We have gathered prenatal care experts who will give you information and specific tips on how to prioritize self-care during pregnancy.

We know you are a busy woman, so thanks for taking the time to come here! Modern pregnancy and motherhood is filled with a seemingly endless to-do list. During your pregnancy, you’re busy juggling your job, getting ready for maternity leave, nesting, making sure you’re eating all the right things, staying active, getting good sleep, planning your baby shower, and cleaning your house from top to bottom to get ready for your little one to arrive. You feel like you hardly have time for yourself!

This is exactly why my husband Kevin and I created the MamaCare Online Summit. We know what it’s like to get so caught up in preparing for our baby’s arrival, we forget to take care of ourselves!

Prioritizing your self-care during pregnancy not only helps you, but directly benefits your baby. AND it creates a habit of self-care that will carry into motherhood.

ABOUT US

We are Sofia and Kevin, New Mexican and New Orleans transplants, respectively. We met at the flagship Whole Foods store in downtown Austin, TX after I approached Kevin and complimented him by telling him that he was the most handsome man I’d ever seen. Five years to that serendipitous day, we got married. That next year we welcomed Maddie into the world and our hearts and lives expanded in every direction.

We’ve gone through the ups and downs of pregnancy, where I endured intense prenatal anxiety that affected every aspect of my life. This, combined with a late-term premature birth, a precipitous labor, and a week-long neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) stay made for a very emotionally exhausting, and sometimes downright scary, transition into parenthood. However, it taught us early on how self-care not only maintains every day sanity, but contributes to the health of a family. As a result, we’ve become self-care advocates for ourselves and others. We invite you to join us in this self-care movement for pregnant and new moms.
